privacy policy

last updated: [DATE PLACEHOLDER]

introduction

Glizzy ('we', 'us', or 'our') operates the Glizzy mobile application (the 'Service'). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have when using the Service.

This page is template copy. The finalized policy will be generated through Termly and posted prior to App Store submission. By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information described here.

information we collect

We collect information you provide directly, including your username, email address, profile photo, and the photos and captions you post to the Service.

We also automatically collect technical information when you use the app, such as device type, operating system, IP address, app version, and approximate location derived from your IP. We may receive limited information from third parties that help operate the Service, such as Sign in with Apple, payment processors, and analytics providers.

how we use information

We use the information we collect to operate the Service — delivering the feed, counting votes, computing leaderboards, awarding badges, and personalizing your experience.

We also use technical and usage data to monitor performance, debug issues, prevent fraud and abuse, enforce our Terms of Service, and improve the Service over time. We do not use your information for marketing communications without your consent.

how we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only with service providers who help us run the Service — including cloud hosting, analytics, payments, and customer support — under contractual confidentiality obligations.

Information you make public on the Service, including your username, profile photo, posts, votes, badges, and leaderboard rankings, is visible to other users by design. We may also disclose information when required by law, to comply with legal process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Glizzy, our users, or the public.

data retention

We retain your account information for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your data is soft-deleted for 30 days and then permanently removed from our systems, except where retention is required by law.

Aggregated or de-identified information that cannot reasonably be used to identify you may be retained indefinitely for analytics and product improvement. Backup copies of deleted data may persist briefly as part of routine system maintenance before being overwritten.

your rights and choices

You can review and update your profile in the app at any time. You can also delete individual posts, mute or block other users, and adjust notification preferences in settings.

You may request a copy of your personal data, request correction of inaccurate data, or request deletion by emailing us at the address below. Depending on where you live (including the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and California), you may have additional rights, such as the right to data portability or the right to opt out of certain processing.

children's privacy (under 13)

Glizzy is not directed to children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 13 without verified parental consent, we will delete that information as quickly as possible. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us at the address below.

international users

Glizzy is operated from the United States. If you access the Service from outside the United States, your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States and other countries where our service providers operate.

We aim to comply with applicable data protection laws regarding cross-border transfers, including the GDPR for users in the European Economic Area and the UK GDPR for users in the United Kingdom. By using the Service, you consent to the transfer of your information consistent with this policy.

changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated version will be indicated by a revised 'last updated' date at the top of this page.

Where changes are material, we will provide additional notice through the app or via email when appropriate. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
